Before I rattle on further, I must inform you, Gentle Reader, that the guys at The Guy Site aren’t my type of guys. I should clarify this a bit - they’re not the kind of guys I fantasize about having sex with (I’m more into guys like Christian, courtesy of Badpuppy) but damn skippy straight I would sure as hell happily hoist a few mugs of draft at a decent sports bar with any one of The Guy Site guys.

The Guy Site focuses on charming Southern men, compelling men who are well-fed, well-beered, and very natural - as this screenshot of the site’s online recruiting page explains.

I’ll leave any more patter about the nature of the content to trusty Sam, since that’s his baliwick and not mine, and instead I’ll make a few remarks about the site itself, which is my baliwick.

The Guy Site is exactly what all amateur sites should aspire to be. It is simple, easy to navigate, and easy on the eyes. It puts dick in your face immediately after login and keeps to the task of displaying captivating males in an ultimately accessible manner.

I’m a big fan of good steaks and baked potatoes, best served on a warmed dinner plate without any extra fucking around for the sake of “presentation.” And I’m extremely fond of sites I can explain with 3 screenshots.

Video and photo quality are above average for an amateur site, and better than more than a few “hollywood quality” sites I’ve seen, video editing is beautifully basic, and there is a nice amount of biographical info for each guy.

If you’re a fan of the kind of guy shown in the samples below, then you’ll certainly have fun with The Guy Site.

The Guy Site is a new site with a carefully-selected library of new, content featuring guys who run between average to appealing in the age bracket of 20 to about 40, with builds ranging from solid to corpulent. Most are natural to furry in the hair department and grooming runs from scruffy to mainstreet

There are a few recognizable straight and bisexual pornstars at the The Guy Site, but the site’s focus is on amateurs and that is the main fare.

Quantity: The Guy Site has approximately 60 galleries, each of which contains video and photo media.

Video Quality: The media is good, recorded with quality consumer-grade equipment. Streams are offered in Windows Media format for download in sizes up to 720 x 480 @ approximately 1,800 kps. There are also shorter (~ 3 minute) clips for convenient play.

Image Quality: The Guy Site offers images which are up to 1,250 px wide or tall, from digital still cameras. The galleries also offer a slideshow function with selectable speed.

User Experience: The Guy Site is superb - the site has a logical layout and performs well; surfing the site is pleasant and inviting.

My first impression of The Guy Site isn’t all that great. First up, the guys are all dogs. Well, maybe not ALL dogs, but I sure struggled to find some guys I find attractive.

Now, I understand the desire to present a variety of guys, and I respect those who don’t want to stick to just “pretty boys”. Not everyone likes just hardbodies, and I’ve been known to film guys who are on the “chunky” side myself.

But, honestly. There is a difference between hunky and fat.

The site itself is fairly easy to navigate. Simple snapshots of the scenes with guys all looking right in the camera, and many with smiles. That’s always nice. Although, I must say the scribbled names don’t really do much for me.

The other thing I don’t much like is there aren’t any cocks on these front pages. Hey, let’s see some dick!

I see at least a few guys I think are cute, so let’s choose one. Let’s go with Johnny.

The still photos are nice. Very “professional”.

The description is decent, albeit somewhat short. It references other videos that Johnny has done, but without links to it. Booo!

They do give one large clip to download, or you can choose lots of short clips. That’s a nice option. I’m in a hurry, so I’ll choose a short one. I want to see if they interview the guys or jut start up with the action.

Not a lot of variety with the photos, I must say. Just a few with his clothes on, and then BAM! Naked. I like to see various stages of undress.

The video is nice, but there isn’t much of an interview. Just “Hi, I’m Johnny” and off he goes. Okay, well find. I guess I really know who you are now.

They obviously film everything in a hotel room. BOOO! I like real locations.

Okay, there is a bit more talking later in the video. That’s nice.

Johnny is cute, so let’s see more.

Mmmm. Johnny with a dildo. That’s nice!

Good lighting. Nice camera angles. Very good.

Let’s move on to another guy I think looks good - Kyle.

Okay. The interviews suck. There is as much personality here as you’ll find in a baked potato.

The camera work sucks. They rely on a tripod too much, and apparently they have no idea what a zoom feature is or how to use it.

The editing sucks. No real post production at all from what I can see. Just hacking cuts.

All in all I give this site 3 out of 5 stars. They have a few cute models, but most of them would lick plates off the floor.

The ones that are cute are not captured very well by the directors. They are boring, boring, boring. They have as much skill as bringing out and capturing personality as my grandmother.

The technical end of The Guy Site is great. They’re using good equipment, and they are producing nice photos and videos, for the most part. They do need to break out and try some of the features of the video camera, and dump the tripod!

Finally I’m pleased that they bring a variety of guys. I like seeing some beefier guys. But, “fatty fatty two by four” bears don’t blow my skirt up.
