This past week I had the pleasure to accompany a very good friend of mine on his business trip to Los Angeles. He is a “player” out there in the adult industry, and he invited me along to meet some people he works with.

The reason is we’re looking at starting up a “live chat web-cam” business featuring our (very hot) models. Naturally, we’re very interested to know if this is something you’d like to see and would be willing to pay for.

In essence, the question is would you pay to have a one-on-one live chat session with Jason or Dirk or Hunter or any one of the other guys we meet. We’re also looking at setting up a “Crash Pad” that is wired with web-cams where our models can come hang out and watch sports or talk about stuff and just have a good time. You could sign on and watch what they’re up to, and when they decide to play around together you’d have a front row seat.

Anyway, that’s what the business end of the trip was all about, and it’s something we’re putting pen to paper about. My friend has very deep pockets (unlike us) and he’s willing to do some investing in a project like that if it looks like it will make money.

But, beyond that, he wanted me to meet some of the many people he works with. I met some really big names out there, and I saw how they operate. Mainly it was in the DVD sales end of the business, and it was really fascinating. He’s worked with most of these folks for 20+ years, and so they are all good friends. I had lunch and dinner with some very famous people, and I had a really great time. They were all very sweet to me. I’m very grateful to my friend for his generous hospitality, and I’m honored that he thinks enough of me to invite me along.

I’m posting a bunch of photos I took, and I’ll describe what they are. These first three are from our evening drive through Hollywood. I’ve never been there before, so it was all very exciting for me. He worked in Hollywood for many years, so he knows all the best places and the underground scene. It was really cool.

This is a restaurant that nearly everyone in the adult business knows and loves. They all meet there for lunch and dinner, and in fact we ate there 3 times. It’s a wonderful Jewish deli, and the food just can’t be beat.

I had the best chopped liver in California (although I think our local deli has better), and their “Cabbage Soup” is simply to die for. This photo is of their “Stuffed Cabbage”, and it’s enough to feed an army. It’s delicious and very unique. If you are ever in Westlake Village take a moment to stop into Brent’s Deli & Restaurant. You won’t be disappointed, and you just might see someone famous!

But, honestly, the best part of our trip was the visit we made to The Getty Museum aka The Getty Center. It’s an amazing building, and the collection is out of this world. Plus, the best part is that it’s completely free (except for the parking).

You can’t drive up to it, but there is a free tram that you can take, or you can hike up the hill. I’d love to try that sometime.

The view from the tram is really wonderful. You can see all the mansions on the hill across the highway…..

…and you can see the city in the distance.

The architecture is truly compelling. It was designed by Richard Meier, who also did the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art and the Museum of Television and Radio in Beverly Hills, among many other projects. It’s simply beautiful.

The gardens and fountains are staggering in their scope and beauty, and the way everything flows from one part to the other is mesmerizing.

We were there at the end of March, so many of the trees were not in bloom. But, even then they have a sparse charm that can’t be denied.

We weren’t able to eat at the outdoor patio, but it’s almost a work of art in itself.

I love the way the gardens interact with the buildings. I’m sure later in the spring and in the summer they are spectacular.

I could sit by fountains alone for hours.

The views are unparalleled. You can see all the way to the San Bernardino Mountains, and the Pacific Ocean.

Here you can see how the gardens blend with the views. I’ve never seen anything like it.

This golden barrel cactus garden is absolutely magnificent.

The buildings themselves are clad in travertine marble and aluminum. These snapshots don’t do them justice.

Our time there was very limited, and so the only exhibit we were able to see was the Impressionist gallery. But, to stand and gaze at paintings by Degas, Van Gogh, Pissarro, Monet, Gauguin, and Renoir was mind boggling.

Monet was the old master of them all, and this painting captivates.

As you can see, I’m not the only one who wanted to stand and stare for hours.

I was reluctant to leave, but I made a vow to myself that the next time I visit LA I’m going to make a point to take an entire day to visit the Getty Center.

Only having one hour there was almost a curse. But, I know it was actually a blessing.
